London is the capital of England and of Great Britain. It is an exciting city – city of traditions, historic buildings, monuments, theatres, parks and interesting museums. About eight million people live in London. There is the river Thames and it devides London into two parts.

Favourite places of interest for visitors are: Buckingham Palace - the London residence of the British Royal Family. St. James`s Park is situated near here. Trafalgar Square – one of the largest London squares. There is the statue of admiral Nelson in the middle and National Gallery with Britain`s best-known collection of paintings. Madam Tussaud`s museum – there are waxworks of famous people from all the world. Another famous places for visitors are London Eye, St. Paul Cathedral and Big Ben.

Birmingham  Birmingham

Birmingham is a city in the West Midlands of England. It is the second largest city in England. There are many famous building, f. e. BT Tower, Joseph Camberlain Clock Tower, The Rotunda, Symphony Hall and others.

Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland. The city is situated on the River Clyde, about eighty kilometres from Edinburgh. There are a lot of great shops in Glasgow. It is famous city because there is one of the largest seaports in Britain.

Manchester is in the north-west of England. It is a fantastic place to visit if you are really into football. It is famous for two football teams – Manchester United and Manchester City.

Liverpool Liverpool

Liverpool is the home of the Beatles and a very famous football club. It`s in the north-west of England. There are loads of interesting things to see and do here. Liverpool is on the River Mersey. There is a very famous place – Albert Dock – which is a group of old historic buildings by the river. Fantastic place to visit for football fans is an Anfield stadium. There is also a tour of the city in the Yellow Duckmarine – it is a bus and also a boat on the water.

BRISTOL

Is a city in South West England. It is England`s sixh and the United Kingdom`s eight most populous city. In the 15th century Bristol was the second most important port in the country, trading to Ireland, Iceland and Gascony. It is famous for a historic building Kings Weston House and Ashton Gate Stadium which is the home of Bristol City F. C. In the heart of Bristol, there is an ancient public house – The Llandoger Trow.

Bristol is also famous for one of the largest event in Europe - International Balloon Fiesta where teams from the United Kingdom and other parts of the world bring their hot air balloons. There are balloon makers and they make many of the special shaped balloons. This event is held annually during August.
